Mini SUV: Cooper Crossman

Still a concept, but likely to go into production, the Mini SUV, to be called the Crossman, is going to be be the moment Mini jumped the shark on their Mini brand, or signal that Mini doesn’t mean small, but smallest, in its category that is. BMW, parent company of Mini, thinks that the uber-cute SUV is the new killer category - for those downgrading from full-blown SUVs out of gas price pain, environmental guilt, or both. Either way, they’re betting that SUV fans will appreciate the white stance, taller belt line, and AWD. Curb weight has gone up by 200 lbs and it’ll lose some fuel efficiency, but to our eyes, the Mini Crossman is an attractive car with very unique features. At a estimated $26K base, also quite reasonable for such style.

Hummer’s Cool But Jeep’s O.G.

In “Hummer HX - Tougher Than the Rest“, we spat mad sh- about the prototype Hummer X. Somewhere between a Monster Jeep and an FJ Cruiser. Well, we’ve reconsidered that “Tougher than the Rest” headline. First of all, its a damn prototype. Secondly, we doubt its tougher than this Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4×4 doing Gangsta duty in Moab. (It also doesn’t hurt that “Hell’s Bells” is playing loudly in the background)

Koenigsegg CCXR Special Edition, Got $2.3 Mil?

The Koenigsegg CCXR, the second most powerful production car in the world, has a price tag more fitting for a King. $2.3 million doesn’t go as far as it used to. But the Koenigsegg CCXR Special Edition does sport E85 ethanol fuel so you can feel like you’re part of the environmental movement - NOT.

It takes the GDP of a small country to build one of these things, but that’s what happens when you want a twin-supercharged 4.7L V8 and a mind-googling (yes we said googling) 1018 horsepower. That’s 0-62 in 2.9 seconds!!!!!! Parked in front of the Chinese Theatre and need to get outta fast? Well, in less then 3 seconds, you’ll be breaking city speed limits. Top speed is 250 mph, just slightly less than that 747 flight to Sweden, where this gorgeous monster hails from.

Hummer HX - Tougher Than the Rest

If you laugh at Jeeps, mock Landrovers and have been unimpressed with the latest Hummer SUVs, you may be in for a treat. The Hummer HX is the most sporty, ruggedly bad-ass Hummer ever. Unfortunately its still a concept, but we’re pretty sure its going into production. The Hummer HX Concept has full-time 4WD, 35-inch tires (gulp, we’d need a ladder to get into it), advanced front suspension, and sippin’ on E85 FlexFuel with a 3.6L SIDI V-6.

Like less expensive rival Jeep, which we do not disrespect at all when it comes to off-trail SUVs, the Hummer HX has removable roof panels, doors, fender flares and a modular rear roof assembly that can be removed so that you’re left with a true SUV convertible.

Our only concern is the FJ-like height seat to roof - judging only by the pics, it seems quite short, yet the 35-inch tires are quite tall. We’re guessing a short guy is best, but he’d look like a dork climbing into this thing, yet a tall guy might slip easily into the seat but be annoyed with the low, sporty ceiling height. Does that make it a dud for you or is this Hummer HX an ill whip?

Aston Martin Vantage Powers Up

The Aston Martin V8 Vantage wreaks of illness: exclusivity, hand stitched leather and that sa-weet winged badge. Unfortunately, the ill whip jungle waits for no one and and the power race marches on. Aston Martin Vantage tries to step it up a notch with increased engine capacity to 4733-cc, and hopefully 20+ more horsepower. The inside cabin is also expecting an update. Car magazine reports that the DB9 is even due to get a “facelift”, causing one blogger to beg Aston Martin to “please be careful with what is already perfection.” We don’t find it that drool-worthy, but we do like this orange red Vantage from their website.

Lotus Exige Killer: McLaren Designer’s New Whip

Jim Dowle, a designer for Gordon Murray’s McLaren F1 design team, has a new sportscar in the works that is supposedly priced at a very reasonable £35k. The target weight is 870 kg and the yet to be named whip is set to go against the Lotus Exige.

Its designed for “out-and-out straight line speed” and is supposed to be more “usable” then the Lotus Exige. Jim Dowle’s new whip is expected to pack 200 bhp (horsepower) in a mid-mounted aluminium/carbon chassis, and is designed to be “fun to drive”, according to PistonHeads. At this point, its a quarter scale model, and they’re still working on providing luggage space, but if everything turns out as it should, this might be a very sweet ride for the price.

Alfa Romeo 8C Spider To Be Unveiled

The hot Alfa Romeo 8C Spider, which comes in both coupe and roadster styling, will be unveiled at this year’s Geneva Auto Show. The concept Alfa Romeo 8C was unveiled way back in Pebble Beach in ‘05, and the 8C Spider shares tech specs with its fixed-roof cousin, the 8C Competizione. Only 500 of these joints will be produced, so if this is your thing, get in line brother.

Porsche GT3 RS vs Ferrari 360 CS

Hmm.. That Porsche GT3 looks kinda fresh, with the all white and red rims, but the words Porsche GT3 on the side is a little corny. The Ferrari 360 CS is all class, except what’s up with not getting any carpeting for a $200,000 car? I know they’re trying to be skinny on the scales but that’s wack sun. You’ll want to peep this for Top Gear’s amazing camera work alone. Don’t miss the ill Ferrari donut spin out Jeremy Clarks tries to pull. Ha ha!

The Audi R8 rocks a 4.2 ltr V8 vs Porsche 911 GT3’s 3.6 ltr flat six, The Audi R8 pushes 420 hp vs Porsche 911 GT3’s 415 hp. The Audi however weighs more then the R8. Here we go! Although the girl driver needs a shot of testosterone and some heavier shoes.
